Research

I’m broadly interested in the ways in which rhetoric and technology interact, particularly the effect that technology has on communication practices. Some of my previous research has investigated the relationship between printing and knowledge-creation and the revision practices of Wikipedia editors.

For my current project, I’m trying to articulate the rhetorical practices of communicators in ubiquitous computing environments.

As an Assistant Director of the CWRL I have been involved with a number of research projects related to rhetoric and writing. One of my favorites was working on viz., a web portal that investigates the connections between visual culture and rhetoric.

Teaching

I am a graduate student in the English Department at the University of Texas at Austin where I study computers, writing, and rhetoric. I teach for the Department of English and the Department of Rhetoric and Writing (DRW) where I am currently an assistant director of the Computer Writing and Research Lab.
